Rotherham Council has made rapid and significant progress on its improvement journey and it is an exciting time to join Rotherham. Do you share our commitment to making a difference? Are you an ambitious leader who can help us progress on this journey?
We have recently reviewed and reorganised the Finance service to ensure that it has the capacity and leadership required to deliver the excellent service that is needed and expected in order to achieve the Council’s future ambitions. This is a great opportunity to work at the heart of the organisation, making a real difference and playing a crucial role shaping the future of the Council.
You will have responsibility for delivering high level financial advice, guidance and support to the Children & Young People’s Services Directorate alongside leading the day to day provision of finance business partnering support to the Directorate.
The role will support the Head of Finance (Children & Young People’s Services) in leading and driving reform across financial management, challenging existing arrangements, exploring opportunities for new investment whilst ensuring the service is delivering its priorities within its budget. The operational focus of the role will involve supporting the Children & Young People’s Services Directorate in all financial management, insurance, control and reporting matters and ensuring all relevant statutory/regulatory responsibilities are met (in accordance with guidance, regulations, professional standards and deadlines).
If you are an ambitious CCAB (including CIMA) qualified accountant with excellent management and leadership qualities, looking for a career enhancing opportunity to make a genuine difference, then we would love to hear from you.
