Rotherham’s vision for its citizens is that every adult is secure, responsible and empowered.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to make a real difference in the integration and transformation of services for adults in Rotherham. This will be a joint post in partnership with Rotherham CCG, working with and deputising for the Strategic Director of Adult Care and Housing. The role will play a key part in the successful delivery of our place plan ambition, working across our Rotherham Accountable Care Partnership.

You will lead the Council’s transformation work with NHS partners, forming part of the team of Local Government and NHS senior managers, helping to deliver integration across health, social care commissioning and service delivery across the Borough as part of the Rotherham Health and Social Care Place Plan. Your objective will be to ensure that the whole system across Adult Social Care provides an integrated response to vulnerable adults and drives the best possible outcomes by directing, leading, managing and influencing specialist and targeted services within the council and across multi-agency partnerships.

We’re seeking transformational leaders who have a successful track record of meeting complex challenges within large organisations through innovative and creative ways of working, whilst also being able to make sustainable progress against performance measures through effective partnership working and cultural change. You will be able to balance a strategic focus alongside an operational grip through applying your extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of the major issues facing adult social care and the NHS across multiple levels.

You will be a consistent high achiever who is able to exploit new opportunities, leading and managing change with the ability to formulate, drive and deliver strategic programmes which cross services and boundaries to improve outcomes for customers. Experience of commissioning and procuring services within the sector and successful strategic budget management should be a feature in your background.

Success in this role will be dependent upon your high levels of enthusiasm, positive leadership and your honest, straight forward approach. You will be passionate about people – both staff and customers – and have the integrity and credibility to rebuild relationships with both Councillors and partners. Come and be the heart that beats for Rotherham, working with communities and partners to support all our residents and build a place which nurtures pride and confidence.

In order to support the Council’s requirement to save a further £41 million from its budget, by collective agreement, from 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2020 there is a temporary 1.15% pay reduction from the advertised substantive salary quoted, which will be spread out by means of a weekly/monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure three additional day’s leave (pro rata for part time workers and new starters in year) will be granted.

This post will have access to the Public Services Network, if successful you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records check at the Basic level (unspent criminal convictions). Further information can be found at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk
