The Duty Service is made up of 5 teams who undertake assessments on new referrals across the Borough. The service operates a 5 week duty rota and each team spends one week on duty, allowing the 4 following weeks to complete assessments and other tasks associated. As the team manage all incoming assessments, this will include S47 investigations; initiating care proceeding; accommodating children; private law reports; risk assessments; pre-birth assessments; Legal gateway meetings following PLO processes. Work is varied and complex.
This post is specifically for experienced Social Workers in the Duty Service.

You will be able to organise your daily workload independently.

You will have experience of carrying out safeguarding investigations in a multi-agency environment.
You will be able to demonstrate initiative and be able to respond independently to unexpected situations.
You will be able to negotiate tactfully when dealing with potential conflict.
You will be capable of accurate reporting and the communication of sometimes complex information to a variety of audiences.
